Job Description

These posts are expected to be available for 2 weeks in September with possibility for additional hours until end of September 2024. The details are as follows:



Enrolment & Registration



Student Assistants must be available to work full-time (or the full hours permitted by their visa or study type) during the main period of Enrolment and Registration inclusive of the weekend if required. Student Assistants will receive an online training session and also be asked to work at least one paid on-the-job training shift. 



Business hours across the sites are from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm. Lunchtime working will be necessary in which case the manager of each enrolment site will determine rotational duties over the lunch period.  There may also be a requirement to work outside of these hours for evening and weekend opening if necessary.



Main Duties:



●          To work at the main enrolment site at the Medical Biology Centre;



●          Directing students to the correct area; Queue management



●          Checking photo ID and Qualifications and inputting information in to Qsis



●          Taking photos and issuing student cards

Queen?s University will host winter Graduation in December.  To assist with the delivery of this important event Campus Food, Drink and Retail require twenty students to provide assistance at winter Graduation events.  These posts are available from Sunday 8 December to Friday 13 December 2024 inclusive, working from 0800am each day for varying hours per day, up to a maximum of thirty-seven hours in seven days depending on your Right to Work Documentation.

The requirements of this post are that applicants must be currently registered and attending a course at Queen's University, Belfast for academic year 2024 ? 2025 and available for the full period that this post is available, otherwise the application will not be considered.

Research Assistant in Organisation, Work and Leadership (up to a maximum of 6.5 hours per week for 24 weeks)

 

This part-time role (up to a maximum of 6.5 hours per week) will support academics in the Department of Organisation, Work and Leadership with their research.



Qualifications

A final year on an undergraduate Business / Management or International Business with a Language programme.



Skills

We are seeking applicants who wish to gain first-hand experience of conducting research in HRM, leadership and organisational behaviour, and who have an interest in communicating research to non-academic stakeholders.

 

This part-time role is intended for an individual who is currently on the BSc Business/Management or BSc International Business and who is thinking about doing a PhD.

 

Good written and verbal communication skills are essential. Knowledge of the appropriate discipline is required.

Research Assistant in International Business, Entrepreneurship and Management (up to a maximum of 6.5 hours per week for 24 weeks)

 

This part-time role (up to a maximum of 6.5 hours per week) will support academics in the Department of International Business, Entrepreneurship and Management with their research.



Qualifications

Final-year student in an undergraduate management or international business programme.



Skills

We are seeking applicants who wish to gain first-hand experience in conducting research in international business, entrepreneurship and management and who are interested in communicating research to non-academic stakeholders.

 

This part-time role is intended for an individual who is currently enrolled in the BSc Management or BSc International Business programme and considering pursuing a PhD.
