Job Description

These posts are expected to be available from 29/08/2024 to 13/09/2024, with possibility for additional hours until the end of September. The details are as follows:



Enrolment & Registration



Student Helpline Assistants must be available to work full-time during the period of the job listed, inclusive of the weekend if required. Due to the intensive training and nature of the work we can only accept applicants who can commit to the full time hours of 37.5 hours per week.



Student Helpline Assistants will be trained prior to starting and will have continuous on the job training provided.



Business hours across the sites are from 9am to 5pm, with possibility of weekend and evening hours available. Lunchtime working will be necessary in which case the manager of each enrolment site will determine rotational duties over the lunch period. 



Main Duties:



●          Assisting with answering Student Helpline queries via telephone, email and student query portal. 



●         Resolving queries and directing students to other departments as required

Skills

No prior experience is required - full training will be given - however experience working in a call centre or in customer service would be beneficial

This part-time role (up to a maximum of 6.5 hours per week) will support academics in the Department of International Business, Entrepreneurship and Management with their research.



Qualifications

Final-year student in an undergraduate management or international business programme.



Skills

We are seeking applicants who wish to gain first-hand experience in conducting research in international business, entrepreneurship and management and who are interested in communicating research to non-academic stakeholders.

 

This part-time role is intended for an individual who is currently enrolled in the BSc Management or BSc International Business programme and considering pursuing a PhD.

 

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. A solid understanding of the relevant discipline is required.

Research Assistant in Business Analytics (up to a maximum of 6.5 hours per week for 24 weeks)

 

This part-time role (up to a maximum of 6.5 hours per week) will support research carried out in the newly launched QBS Analytics Lab and the wider Department of Information Technology, Analytics and Operations with their research.

 

We are seeking applicants who wish to gain first-hand experience of conducting research in business analytics, and who have an interest in communicating research to non-academic stakeholders.

 

This part-time role is intended for an individual who is currently undertaking a Master's degree in Business Analytics in the Business School and who intends to apply to undertake a PhD in the school. Candidates will be required to include a summary of up to one page outlining the intended PhD research as part of the application. However, the application to undertake a PhD is a separate competitive process which is not linked to the application for this post.



Qualifications

Currently undertaking an MSc Business Analytics degree in the business school.



Skills

Knowledge of the research process, to include literature reviews and research project design and administration.

 

Knowledge of appropriate analytics methods.

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also necessary.
