Join Our Invigilator Team - Be a Key Part of Exam Success!

We're looking for organised, reliable, and empathetic individuals to join our pool of Invigilators. This crucial role ensures the smooth running of exams, helping students perform their best. The position is on an as-needed basis throughout the year, with most sessions taking place during our main exam periods in January, May, and August.

Main Exam Venue: While we do conduct exams across Central London, most of the work takes place at the ExCel Centre.

Please detail what the candidate will be working on and the deliverable that they will be expected to produce. 

Context: King's Civic Leadership Academy (CLA) offers students (who are given the title ?Civic Scholars?) and community organisations across London, the opportunity to work together on addressing some of the capital's most complex social issues, whilst learning what makes and how to become better leaders and changemakers. We do this in two ways ? a Leadership Development Curriculum and practical experiences with our community partners. This academic year 2024-5 marks six years of the programme and we have some data from the past two years that we have collated. We would like this to be put into an engaging report.

Deliverable: To produce a visually engaging evaluation report

What exists

Your specific tasks

  • Review the data from the past two years and decide how to visually present this in a report
  • Draft 2-3 design examples of how these could be presented 
  • Design the report and share it with the team
  • Depending on how this goes, there may be an opportunity to work on another document.


Qualifications

We require no particular qualifications for this role but we do expect the applicants to have solid experience using design software. This could be from the Adobe suite or it could be strong use of programs like Canva.

  • Knowledge of King's College London's branding guidelines - including font package, use of colours, logo placement and image use etc is essential

Other skills we?d expect the intern to demonstrate include: 

  • Creativity & judgement: Ability to review the data and consider a number of ways this could be presented.
  • Excellent organisation & time-management: there is a tight turnaround for this project and so we need the candidate to work effectively, use their independent judgement
  • Strong communication and responsive: Email is the main form of communication and we need the candidate to communicate their availability and respond in a timely manner
  • Adaptability: receptive to amendments, feedback or change of direction
  • Attention to detail: ensuring that the designs are clear and neat
