Residential Community Ambassadors (RCAs) are crucial to fostering a supportive and engaging environment in LSBU Halls of Residence. This includes establishing a sense of belonging, ensuring student wellbeing, and promoting the operational and social aspects of residential life. The role requires flexibility, commitment, and the ability to work with staff and residents across all three halls.

About the us: 

King's Digital is the team responsible for delivering the college's online master's programmes. Online learning is an innovative and dynamic space, creating accessible education for students across the globe. King's College London offers 20 online master's programmes currently being studied by nearly 5,000 students. 

The King's Digital team consists of three core functions: Operations, Production and Student Support. This role sits within the Operations Team but will offer opportunities to work with colleagues across functions. 

About the role: 

The Communications Intern will report to the Communications Manger and be responsible for supporting the delivery of key communications campaigns and website updates. 

The Communications team is a new function within King's Digital, meaning the Communications Intern will be involved with producing content and optimising digital channels right at the beginning of the overall communications strategy. 

In their day-to-day role, the successful candidate will help to optimise King's Digital's webpages and develop content for the Why online? campaign, supported by the Communications Manager. They will work with key stakeholders to create content such as blogs, articles and social media posts. They will also input new and updated content onto the King's Digital webpages to ensure easy access and use for current and prospective students. 

This is a varied role offering opportunities to develop skills in external and internal communications, copy writing, content management systems (CMS) and B2C digital marketing.

Qualifications

Studying towards an undergraduate degree 



Skills

Essential criteria 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation)
  • Experience in creating and managing web content with a CMS tool (preferably Contensis Classic) 
  • Highly organised with the ability to deliver in a timely manner 
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop ideas and produce visual content (such as social media posts)
  • Strong interpersonal skills including tact and confidence when engaging with key stakeholders such as programme academics or senior leaders

Desirable criteria

  • Experience with creative media tools such as Canva 
  • Experience with Sharepoint 
  • Experience writing blogs/articles 
  • Self-motivated, results oriented with a can do attitude 
  • Study in English literature, Marketing or a relatable field
