Job Description

The role will support the Catering Services & Events. Provide a professional and competent level of service to all customers working closely with the catering team to ensure that the agreed services are delivered on time to the required highest standards. The Department has a strong commitment to customer Service and aims to ensure best value for money for its customers and the college as a whole.

You will be responsible for the setting of the conference and event facilities to the agreed specification, movement, handling and setting of all equipment from banquet tables and chairs, staging and cutlery/crockery as well as regularly deal with bar stock control, rotation and wastage.

You will work across a to all hospitality events, coffee shops on our Guy campus but be flexible and able to work in any of the King's College Campuses including caf?, catering and hospitality services.

  • Respond to requests for information from customers in accordance with College policies.
  • Actively promote and sell the catering services to customers.
  • Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery within the department


Qualifications

Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent

Hospitality & Catering knowledge desired

Key responsibilities

Data Entry 

To undertake accurate, timely and complete input of supplier invoices to the University Finance/Payment Provider Systems including foreign currency payments via various methods including manual entry and electronic processes. - To undertake appropriate compliance checking of user submitted documents and source documents to confirm compliance with policy - To feedback and advise service users where errors or discrepancies are identified.

Currently the team Accounts Payable Transactional Team process over 180,000 Supplier Invoice Transactions per annum.

 

Workflow Resolution

 

In line with set procedures, to undertake analysis of Accounts Payable document workflow reports to identify aged and/or misallocated documents; and take appropriate remedial action. - To action individual and pooled workflow tasks in accordance with time and quality standards.

 

Automated Invoice Reading ? Exception Handling

 

To undertake review of invoice exception data via the Automated Invoice Reading Solution (AIR) and review and validate exceptions occurring in the ERP Finance System (Unit 4 Business World)

 

Enquiry Resolution

 

Under the direction of Accounts Payable (P2P) Transactional Team Lead, resolve allocated queries and ensure responses / resolutions are actioned to target time and quality standards. 

 

Statement and other reconciliation tasks 

 

To undertake reconciliation of supplier statements in accordance with the set criteria/schedule. - To resolve reconciliation differences by initiating and co-ordinating the appropriate action from Supplier and/or King?s College London Staff as appropriate

We are really pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to join our team in the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care as a Student Scholar with the AI Nurses Network funded by the Burdett Trust for Nursing. This student research internship will involve a number of key tasks led by Dr Siobhan OConnor. This specific scholarship is to assist the team with a scientific review exploring the ethical issues associated with artificial intelligence in nursing and midwifery. 

The scholarship involves: 1) assisting with screening research studies, 2) supporting data extraction from relevant research studies, 3) assisting data analysis, 4) helping write up the scientific review, and 5) other ad-hoc duties as they arise. The intern will work with Dr OConnor and the AI Nurses Network team to conduct the scientific review. 

The role is based at the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care in the research division of Digital Health and Applied Technology Assessment. This division benefits from a multidisciplinary team comprising researchers, educators, health and care professionals, and patient and public involvement representatives. 

Candidates should be highly motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They should have excellent written and communication skills and be able to work and engage with multiple stakeholders. The intern will need to manage multiple deadlines and work independently to achieve these. 



Qualifications

Essential criteria

  1. Enrolled in a pre-registration nursing programme at Kings College London.
  2. Interest in nursing research and some understanding of research methods.
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication to the situation.
  4. Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise and complete work within deadlines.
  5. Strong organisational and planning skills with proven ability to coordinate and deliver projects.
  6. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  7. A commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusivity for staff and students.

Desirable criteria

  1. Research experience in digital health demonstrated by participation in the delivery of research projects and authorship on academic publications.
  2. Knowledge and experience in using research software such as Covidence and NVivo.
  3. Research experience in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement.
