Job Description

The admissions office is recruiting for two temporary roles within our team. 



 



You will be a key member of the business process, processing applications ande helping us to deliver our service delievery targets



 



This role is under a temporary contract and will require early and late hours during key dates. 



 



Please note this is a full time role. Please do not apply if you are unable to commit to 35 hours per week. 



 



Expected interview date - Week commencing – 19th November 2021 - Interviews will be conducted remotely

You are required to have good IT skills, a professional attitude and a strong work ethic. This role involves following specialised business and administrative work processes for which full training will be provided. 



 



You will be capable of working in a team and able to communicate confidently with various stakeholders at various levels. You will be able to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work as an individual.

Techstars Start-Up weekend is coming to Belfast! We need support in making this happen and we are looking for students to support us at the event.



About the event:



Techstars Startup Weekend is a three-day programme where aspiring entrepreneurs can experience startup life. It’s taken place in hundreds of cities around the world, and now it’s coming to Belfast! Over 400,000 people have participated in Startup Weekends in 150 countries, and the Startup Weekend methodology has successfully created thousands of companies!



Tasks will include:




  • Welcoming participants 

  • Liaising with caterers on site 

  • Supporting with room set up 

  • Liaising with mentors, speakers and judges

  • Helping set up technology

  • Answering queries 

  • Guiding participants to the right rooms etc

  • Answering questions 

  • And any other tasks that might come up

Skills

There is very little experience required for this role.  We are looking for people who are confident in communicating with others, who are relatively organised and an interest in the Start-Up world is a bonus!

 

Part-time data assistant opportunity – August 2024



The Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy needs to synthesise, analyse and report on confidential data from a number of simple spreadsheets.  We are looking for a part-time Data Assistant to carry out the following indicative tasks: harmonise formatting; split data into different groupings; run cross-checks with other data sources; report on various aspects of the resultant data. (Please note this list is for illustrative purposes and may not be comprehensive).



The successful candidate will have expert-user level excel and analysis skills, communication skills, effective time management and organisation, and the ability to compile results into a short formal report. Data visualisation skills for the report will be essential.  



Job specification: The work pattern is flexible and to be agreed with the successful candidate but may be 14 hours per week, for 4 weeks in the first instance at £22 per hour.
