King's Summer Programmes is a specialist creative business development unit that designs, develops and delivers open enrolment and bespoke seasonal international education programmes in line with King?s Education Strategy.  

Its portfolio includes flagship Undergraduate and Pre-University Summer Schools, customised undergraduate and postgraduate student programming for international partners, short courses and overseas programmes offered in face-to-face, blended and online modalities.    

This role will support the Programme Delivery Coordinator on the Pre-University and Undergraduate Summer Programmes with managing stakeholder enquiries and processing applications.   

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for programme queries, providing excellent customer service to prospective applicants, parents and students. They will assist with any queries incoming students may have on administrative procedures at King's such as timetable navigation, accommodation queries and KEATS. A large part of the role will include application processing. 

The busiest time for this role will be the summer programme delivery period from mid-June to end of July, when the role holder is expected to be present on campus in London. During this period, a leave embargo is in place, so annual leave will not be approved. Outside of programme delivery periods, all team members are currently permitted to work remotely for part of the week as part of King's trial of hybrid working.

Essential Criteria 

Required to work full-time on campus throughout the summer delivery period (June  to July 27th.) 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in written and verbal communications 

Excellent administrative skills, including organisation and planning  

Ability to work collaboratively  

Ability to anticipate problems and apply proactive approaches to resolve issues 

Experience of working under pressure in a high-volume customer service driven environment 

Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment 

A strong awareness of Health & Safety  

Ability to plan own workload, work to tight deadlines and adapt where necessary 

Excellent attention to detail  

Desirable Criteria 

Experience of working in the higher education sector  

Experience in dealing with international students 

 

Training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Responsibilities  

Assisting the Programme Delivery Coordinator as the primary point of contact for students, applicants, and parents, via email and phone. 

Providing guidance to applicants and parents on application and payment procedures. 

Supporting application processing by checking eligibility, payments and issuing offers and confirmation letters to applicants. 

Assisting the Summer Programmes team with daily administrative tasks. 

Acting as receptionist during delivery periods; addressing inquiries and escalating complex issues to the Programme Delivery Coordinator or relevant team members. 

Attending regular briefings and updating staff on issues or concerns. 

Adhering to Summer Programmes safeguarding guidelines and maintaining professionalism. 

Performing additional duties required by the Summer Programmes team or assigned by the Programme Delivery Coordinator.

Contribute to the development and implementation of a climate and sustainability engagement plan for staff and students, working closely with KCS communications colleagues to ensure this is aligned with the KCS communications plan and activities. This includes development of behavioural change campaigns. ? Lead the delivery of the Sustainability Champions programme (Green Impact) and ensure continued staff participation and increased representation from across the university. This includes engaging staff with climate action & fulfilling the toolkits, organising activities such as events, workshops, drop-ins, training opportunities and the annual Sustainability Awards. ? Support colleagues in RMID (Research Management & Innovation Directorate) with the delivery of the LEAF (Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework) programme to support sustainability practice in laboratories. ? Contribute significantly to sustainability engagement activities, events and training, such as Welcome to King?s, our annual Climate & Sustainability Month and Carbon Literacy Training, ensuring evaluation and measurement of impact.Contribute to the running of the KEATS Sustainability & Climate Module and Sustainability Seminar Series. ? Manage specific projects to support the delivery of the King?s Climate and Sustainability Action Plan and sustainability strategy, including supporting and leading projects contributing to the objectives, engagement campaigns, and targets within the plan. ? Engage and liaise with staff, students and other sustainability and environmental related groups, to support the practical adoption and implementation of innovative ideas and climate and sustainability engagement projects on campus. ? Support the delivery of sustainability engagement objectives and track progress and impact against these by collating information and data on KPIs and analysing data, feedback and impact. ? Embed sustainability and support campaigns and projects which integrate sustainability into existing King?s policies, procedures and activities. ? Support sustainability colleagues within Estates & Facilities, RMID and other directorates as agreed, for example through training and event support. ? Lead activities relating to community building and organising to empower the King?s climate and sustainability community to effectively engage with the climate crisis and proactively drive meaningful action. ? Engage with external stakeholders through networks, collaborative projects and sharing case studies (e.g. Citizens UK, KCLSU, King?s Food, London Student Sustainability Conference). The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.

  1. Knowledge of sustainability and climate issues.
  2. Experience of planning and delivering a range of engagement activities, including events and training.
  3. Experience of supporting the implementation of projects and contributing to the development and measurement of plans and strategies.
  4. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with evidence of building good working relationships and the ability to present to a wide range of audiences in an enthusiastic and engaging way.
  5. Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a proactive approach and the ability to work independently, flexibly and as part of a team.
  6. Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality materials.
  7. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Strong IT literacy (i.e. Microsoft Office), including ability to manipulate spreadsheets or databases, to support presentation and report writing and data management.
  9. A first degree or equivalent in any subject.
