Job Description

Our prestigious client near Leeds is seeking a mechanical estimator this well established organisation ranks second to none in its UK and overseas operations please apply ASAP.



The applicant will have ideally experience working in M&E HVAC type environments and have an understanding of the Mechanical side of Chiller Units Condensers Ventilation and Advanced HVAC units.

The client supplies to Government and the private sector and is meticulous in its approach to implementation of the work and its delivery.



As a Mechanical Estimator you will be responsible for but not limited to: • Preparing estimates for mechanical projects up to £3 million. • Reviewing drawings, carrying out take-offs and pulling together material, labouring and subcontractor costs to produce a tender. • Negotiating with multiple suppliers and specialist subcontractors. • Preparing submission documents. • Working well under pressure to meet tender submission deadlines. • Producing profit forecasts.

You will need to demonstrate a wide history of project planning including optical networks and the concomitant civil engineering bias that works in tandem with the networks.In addition you will have exposure to the business as usual models such as Primavera Power Project and a raft of other suites commensurate with Project Planning. 



Major planning and understanding of infrastructure utilities and building networks is vital.

Responsibilities 



As a building services engineer, you'll need to: 



• negotiate and develop project contracts and agree these with clients, if working in  consultancy and putting out tenders 



• commission, organise and assess the work of contractors 



• work with detailed diagrams, plans and drawings 



• use specialist computer-aided design (CAD) software and other resources to  design the systems required for the project 



• use and develop Building Information Modelling (BIM) to ensure systems are  coordinated in a complex construction or refurbishment project 



• manage and forecast spend, using whole life cycle costing techniques, ensuring  that work is carried out within budget and energy-efficient systems are  implemented 



• design site-specific equipment as required 



• oversee and supervise the installation of building systems and specify  maintenance and operating procedures 



• monitor building systems and processes 



• liaise closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, builders,  architects and surveyors and in-house project teams 



• attend a range of project group and technical meetings 



• ensure that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative  and health and safety requirements 



• work on a variety of projects within a short period of time.
