KCL SaIL Paediatric Ward Art Designer

 

Job Description

We are looking for a creative and artistic candidate to decorate the walls of the new Paediatric Simulation Ward area in the KCL SaIL's Shepard's House site on Guy's Campus.



We would like the designs to be suitable for a Children's ward and to accurately represent the designs used in other Paediatric Ward areas used by hospitals.



The successful candidate will be required to present a plan of their ideas for designs in the ward area and examples of previous artwork they have done.



The role will be done over 20 hours each week until completion, these hours/days can be agreed with your prospective supervisor once appointed but we can offer flexibility on days and hours.



The successful candidate should be able to start immediately.



The job will need to be completed by the 20th of September ahead of the ward being used in the forthcoming academic year.



Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams so please be prepared to share examples of your work via your computer.




Qualifications

  • Undertaking a degree/qualification in Art or a Level 3 qualification in Art



Skills

  • Background in art/graphic design

  • A creative and focused individual with a track record for delivering targets and meeting deadlines

  • Previous experience delivering such a task (preferred but not essential)

Good IT Literacy - specifically Excel skills

Development of protocols for Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging in advanced custom developed microscopes

Interest in developing 3D tissue models (organoids, spheroids)

BSc(hons) Biology or related discipline

Knowledge and experience of Metabolic processes in Cancer

Knowledge of Autofluorescence imaging using FLIM
