Job Description

The admissions office is recruiting for roles within our clearing team as admissions assistants for our clearing operation.The majority of successful applicants would start with us on 8th August. However we will have 8 roles beginning Thursday 4th July 2024. 



You will be a key member of the business process, interacting with applicants, assessing applications, data processing among other administrative tasks.



This role is under a temporary contract and will require early and late hours during key dates. If you wish to gain the experience of being a team member in a large business operation please submit an application.



Please note the number of hours available may vary due to the nature of the role. For this reason we cannot guarantee your position will be available until the expected end date.



Expected interview date - Week commencing 6th May 2024 - Interviews will be conducted in person on Holloway campus. After the interview you will be asked to complete a short test. 



In order to apply for this role you must have be a current student of London Met or a recent graduate of London Met

You are required to have good IT skills, a professional attitude and a strong work ethic. This role involves following specialised business and administrative work processes for which full training will be provided.



You will be capable of working in a team and able to communicate confidently with various stakeholders at various levels. You will be able to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work as an individual.

This person will support the work of the Placements and Partnerships Officer in supporting the administration of quality processes and practice based learning within nursing and physiotherapy which includes providing administrative support to meet new and on-going regulatory standards for Professional, Regulatory and Statutory Bodies related to pre-registration healthcare provision.


The post holder will be expected to demonstrate their skills in using a range of University processes

and systems. Responsibilities of the role include support for meeting pre-registration regulatory standards, support for the administration of practise based learning and placements. They will ensure accurate and correct completion of department related administration in full compliance with the University requirements.

Key aims of the role:

1) Meeting quality standards.

2) Practice based learning ? administration and supporting partnership working with key stakeholders

3) Supporting pre-placement checks ? such as mandatory training, DBS and Occupational Health

Qualifications

Skills
This should be a London Met Graduate with
Relevant administrative experience working in an office based environment with others.
Experience and aware of the legal framework associated with of handling private, confidential, and sensitive records.
Experience of editing web content using a content management system
Educated to Degree level or above, (or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant learning)
A commitment to continuing professional development.
Working knowledge of databases and digital systems particularly those used in
Higher Education institutions (e.g. customer record systems and business intelligence systems)
Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint) and in depth
working knowledge of Excel
Proficient in the use of cloud based products (e.g. Box,Google Drive and associated
products)
Proficient in the use of local databases (e.g. Access)
Willingness to work flexibly to meet the demands of the role.
Ability to proactively manage workload and prioritise tasks

Research Assistants for Politics and Public Policy Project



Project Description: I'm seeking 4 research assistants to assist in compiling a cross-country sample of civil society organisations and firms engaged in lobbying across Europe. The project investigates the resilience of civil society organisations in times of crisis in the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and the EU through eliter surveys, interviews and focus groups with organisational leaders. 



Tasks: Research assistants will be responsible for conducting and documenting web searches of organisations, as well as collecting contact details of organisational leaders in the above countries. This includes collecting and organising information about organisations in live Excel spreadsheets and codebooks.



Expected Commitment: Approximately total of 60 hours over maximum of 8 weeks. Remote work is possible. Regular in-person or virtual meetings.



Qualifications

Essential: 




  • Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in politics or in a related social science and humanities discipline.



Desirable:




  • Be enrolled in (or have completed) a MA or PhD in politics or in a related social science and humanities discipline

  • Relevant Language Certificates

  • Relevant Data Entry Certificates



Skills

Essential:




  • Candidates should be proficient in using search engines, Excel, and automatic translation tools for websites in various languages.



Desirable: 




  • Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in one of the languages: German, French, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, or Danish (at least B1 intermediate level)

  • Previous work experience as part of research team

  • Previous work experience in civil society organisations

  • Proficiency in more than one of the above languages

  • Fluency (C1/C2) in one of the above languages

  • Evidence of data entry training/diplomas
