Job Description

Come join the Summer Programmes team as a Summer Office Assistant! As we prepare for the delivery of our flagship programmes, the Pre-University and Undergraduate Summer Schools, we're looking for hard-working, enthusiastic and meticulous individuals to join our team and help ensure that every Summer student has the best experience at King's! 



The role is expected to be full-time, but part-time hours can be negotiated. The role will be based at Strand Campus in the South-East Wing of Bush House. 



Role purpose 





  • Assisting in providing advice and guidance to Summer Programmes students   




  • Adding to the study abroad student experience by developing and leading a range of internationally focused social and cultural events  




  • Advising incoming students on administrative procedures at King’s such as timetable navigation, accommodation queries and KEATS.   




  • Supporting day-to-day office tasks in an administrative capacity. 




  • During delivery, acting as a receptionist in the Bush House office and fielding queries from students and escalating when necessary.  




  • Assisting with enrolment activities and running opening and closing events for each session.   




  • To be a support co-ordinator on the Pre-University and Undergraduate Summer Programmes  





 



Overview of key tasks and responsibilities 





  • Supporting the Summer Programmes team with general administrative tasks. 




  • Responsible for responding to enquiries coming through the Summer@kcl.ac.uk inbox.  




  • Working in a receptionist capacity during delivery periods, fielding enquiries from students, academics and visitors and escalating complex cases to the Summer Programme team.  




  • Attending in an official capacity with student activities that require staff presence and advising students of relevant services on campus / in London.  




  • Working as part of the team to publicise the Summer Programmes activities and communicating with students and external contacts about their participation. 




  • To attend regular staff, course, modules and other briefings and keep all relevant staff members updated of any issues/concerns. 




  • To ensure all students adhere to the Summer School Code of Conduct throughout the programme. 




  • To follow the Summer Programmes safeguarding guidelines and processes and conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times. 




  • To support the experience of students in the different summer programmes, providing any additional support and guidance they may require. 




  • To carry out other duties consistent with the post and/or as directed by the Summer Programmes team. 




  • When required, covering the duties of a Summer Course Assistant if staff levels are low. 




  • Supporting and assisting in the coordination of the Summer Programmes events. 




  • To ensure students are aware and fully compliant with in campus COVID and Health & Safety policy.

We're looking for enthusiastic and energetic King’s Student App Promoters to spread the word about our innovative app across different King’s campuses. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the King’s students and support them with trying the app, which ultimately will improve their student experience.  



You can start straight away! 

We are looking to hire 4-6 King’s Student App Promoters as soon as possible to work until Friday 29th September 2023. The hours will be mostly full-time (excluding weekends).  



 



Key Responsibilities 





  • Face of the app: Be the driving force behind promoting the King’s Student App on various campuses, creating excitement and buzz 







  • Engage with Students: Interact with students, explain the different benefits of the app and how this can enhance their student experience 




  • Event Logistics: Set-up and pack down promotion stalls, help with moving, storing and organising app merchandise 




  • Promotional Content: There may be a chance to get involved with content creation for various King’s channels to promote the app

The Centre for Sustainable Business (CSB) is seeking two part-time research assistants to contribute to a research profile mapping project. This initiative aims to map existing publications, research undertaken, and future research interests of academics at King's Business School (KBS). The objective is to facilitate information sharing and collaboration while providing strategic directions for CSB to carry out work that benefits the academic community. 



The research assistants will assist with both online and offline research, including extracting online information and corroborating it with offline interview/survey data collected from KBS academics. They will also be responsible for producing research reports. 



The job is flexible and very suited to PhD students working on or interested in areas of Business Studies and Digital Methods. 



Qualifications

MA in Business Studies or Informatics/Digital Humanities; ideally a PhD student in this area

  • A background or strong interest in the research areas  




  • Experience in carrying out primary and secondary research 




  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 




  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines  





Desirable Criteria: 





  • Experience assisting collaborative research projects

  • Experience or interest in stakeholder liaison  




  • Ability to work independently and proactively to the standards required
