Job Description
For welcome week 2024, the Culture team will have three events running. This includes an art workshop running across three days, a KCLSU showcase and a welcome week stall.
For these three events we will need event assistants to encourage students to participate and inform new students about King?s Culture and the work that we do.
Key Tasks
Complete the training for the role
Inform students about the events and the work of King?s Culture
Encourage participation with workshops/events
Ensuring visitors are respectful of the installation
Tidying and ensuring there are no trip hazards etc
Represent King?s College London being the first port of call for questions from students, staff and the public, handing out promotional material (if available) and providing excellent customer service to visitors and students;
Be comfortable approaching and interacting with students
Approach students and encourage sign ups to the student newsletter
Encourage people to follow @CulturalKings
Be friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and communicate effectively with visitors answering any queries or concerns politely and signposting to various points locally including toilet facilities
Flag unexpected emergencies to duty staff and help to guide and evacuate people to a safe place
Keep vigilant for any strange behaviour and reports from the public inform event staff/security asap

Excellent customer service skills and experience
Excellent communication skills
Confident approaching students, staff and members of the public
Punctual
Flexible approach to duties
Ability to be proactive and motivated during quiet periods
Awareness of Health and Safety procedures
Desirable Criteria
Experience working in the arts/museum environment
Experience in events
Front of house experience
