Engagement And Insights Officer

 

Job Description

The Engagement and Insights Officer provides insight, communications and engagement support to the Associate Director, London Engagement within the International, Engagement & Service Directorate (IES).  

The post holder will deliver a series of focused research projects to identify/map activities across the University that align with the strategic priorities of our home boroughs (Lambeth, Southwark and Westminster). They will also deliver a broader research project focused on identifying/mapping King?s national partnerships and activities. Alongside this, the post holder will provide internal/external communications, engagement and administrative support to the Associate Director, London Engagement and the Senior Engagement Communications Manager.

IES is a new Directorate at King?s that brings together the expertise of teams engaging with communities and partners locally, national and globally. The Directorate provides strategic leadership for the university?s engagement at home and abroad, while providing a home for a portfolio of innovative programmes that generate and measure impact and serve the communities we work with and for. IES is home to some of King?s most innovative and impact-driven programming including Sanctuary, the Afe Babalola Centre for Transnational EducationKing?s Volunteering, One King?s Impact, among others, as well as our civic and place-based engagement in London, and across the world.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead focused research projects that identify activities across the University that align with the strategic priorities of our home boroughs (Lambeth, Southwark and Westminster). Through independent research, using internal and external sources, deliver research/insight reports that demonstrate how King?s is supporting the strategic ambitions of our home boroughs. 
  • Lead a research project to identify/map King?s College London?s national partnerships, relationships and activities across education, research, service and engagement through independent research using internal and external sources. 
  • Provide hands-on administrative support, including email triage for London Engagement address. 
  • Provide internal/external communications and engagement support to the Senior Engagement Communications Manager for IES.
  • Support the development of CRM to build and expand the contacts database for all audiences.
  • Support with the development of engagement materials such as PowerPoint presentations.

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, work well under pressure, and deliver projects on time.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Familiarity with the Gazan higher education sector.
  • Experience working sensitively with forcibly displaced communities and a solid understanding of global forced displacement issues.

  • Event Coordination: Organize an in-person event connecting university leaders to develop a collaborative response aimed at supporting Gazan students and academics.
  • Reporting: Produce a concise report outlining how UK universities can effectively support Gazan students and academics, with a focus on digital education.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Facilitate communication and collaboration with key groups and organizations within the UK higher education sector.

LOCATION STRAND AND/OR LONDON BRIDGE - LOOKING FOR WEEKDAY AND WEEKEND COVER. The casual receptionist is an important role in helping King?s Sport & Wellness deliver its range of services to all members across our 2 gym sites. You will work closely with the full-time health and fitness coaches and the gym operations supervisors to ensure that members are given a world class experience. 

The role is a zero hour contract and shifts are allocated subject to need using the app SLING. WEEKEND shifts are priority. You will need to have or be working towards a FIRST AID qualification. 



Qualifications

Essential Qualifications: 

First aid qualification 

Must be able to work weekends

Must be able to work flexible hours, including early shifts, late shifts, and weekend shifts, and have good availability 

A good level of education (A-level) or equivalent. 

Suitable experience and knowledge of working in a similar/related role 

Commitment to continued professional development 

Excellent communication skill across a variety of customer groups and ability to forge good relationships with a variety of departments or user groups 

A strong grasp of information technology and Microsoft office skills including word and excel 

 

Desirable qualifications/qualities: 

Level 2 Fitness Instructing Qualification or working towards Level 2 Fitness Instructing Qualification. 

Other fitness related qualifications. 

Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations. 

Knowledge of the importance of physical, mental and social skills to aid individual wellness. 



Skills

To monitor the gym members to ensure their safety and report any concerns to the full-time team members 

To support the gym team to continually maintain and exceed operational performance of the gyms 

To assist in the operational systems and processes of managing health and fitness memberships and services and ensure all card transactions are accurately reported. 

Ensure all operating policies are adhered to whilst in the gyms - being responsible for the opening and closing procedures and ensuring all equipment and the building operates within health & Safety guidelines as required 

To develop positive working relationships with the health and fitness coaches, King?s Sport & Wellness staff, and other student service providers within the University to enhance students? experience. 

Provide an exceptional level of customer service through phone, email, and face-to-face interactions as well as signposting to other King's Sport & Wellness services. 

Escalate customer enquiries to relevant parties using correct procedure  

Any further duties, which may reasonably be required by King?s Sport & Wellness Gym Management or King?s Sport Senior Management
