Job Description

Healthy Volunteers will be required to have their eyes examined 16 times between 8am and 1pm. Eye drops will be administered to your eyes to cause dilation and allow examination to take place. This is not a painful procedure and is perfectly safe.

This is a part-time, flexible role to undertake a specific programme of work before the end of July. There are nominally 14 hours per week over 8 weeks, but this may be undertaken at times suiting the successful candidate, according to the needs of the project, in agreement with the PI.



The role is to assist with the research and stakeholder consultation components of a co-design curriculum development initiative to improve data science education for nutrition and dietetics students at King's.



Responsibilities will include:




  • Registering the project with the minimal-risk ethics register

  • Coordinating stakeholder group (internal and external stakeholders, including students, academics, employers and subject-matter experts)

  • Assisting with the design, conduct and analysis of a mixed-methods project to evaluate stakeholder needs and student and staff openness to engage with an enhanced data science curriculum

  • Assisting with a mapping exercise for practices in other institutions/departments and professional standards

  • Supporting a rapid review of the literature in relation to statistics, data science, research methods and digital health education in nutrition & dietetics



Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in nutrition, dietetics, sports science, food science or from a statistical or healthcare background

  • Enrolled or near completion of a postgraduate research degree in a related field



Skills

  • Experience supporting ethics submissions

  • Skills to support stakeholder engagement

  • Research and analytic skills to support core research elements of the project

  • Desirable: Experience with mixed-methods research, in particular, facilitation, co-design or similar methodologies

The Facilities Management Logistics Team at KCL is seeking a motivated, highly organised and people orientated driver to carry out collections and deliveries at all KCL sites.



 



As a logistics driver, the role will encompass working across all KCL campuses primarily collecting/delivering items, including supporting the movement of books between 6 University Libraries at the following locations:



 



Maughan Library (Holborn)



FWB Library (Waterloo)



St Thomas Library (Waterloo)



Guys Library (London Bridge)



IOP Library (Denmark Hill)



WEC Library (Denmark Hill)



 



In line with the University’s Sustainability Strategy, our fleet of vehicles are electric, and the successful applicant will be responsible for driving one of those vehicles ensuring that they adhere to all related safe working practices, guidance, and University policies. The appointed candidate will also be responsible for reporting any damage, accidents, and any safety-related defects immediately to the line manager.



This role will also cover the transport of ad-hoc items and will cover the post room as required.



While the role of the driver is mostly carried out independently, it is also important that you are a team player, with good levels of customer service, ensuring all interactions with stakeholders are delivered to the highest calibre.



This role will report to the Fleet coordinator.
